  • JoomlaDay Florida 2017

JoomlaDay Florida will be held on Feb 25-26, 2017 in Tampa, Florida!

I will be presenting two sessions, one on Saturday and a workshop on Sunday. The two day event looks wonderful with many sessions, roundtable discussions, and an exam offering.

The session I will be presenting:

    Gantry framework development
In this session Robbie Adair will showcase the Gantry template framework.

    Fabrik Workshop
Can’t find a Joomla! component to fit your needs? The Fabrik extension gives you the ability to go well beyond the core capabilities of Joomla. From basic capabilities to custom databases and applications, Fabrik provides a foundation to make anything possible in Joomla! Fabrik applications can go to the next level by using more advanced features such as: element javascript options, the calc element, cascading dropdowns, Joomla ACL, customizing view templates, as well as displaying and editing data from an external database directly inside your Joomla! site.

  • JoomlaDay Houston 2017

JoomlaDay Houston will be held on Feb 11, 2017 at the new Microsoft located next to City Centre!

Not only am I offering two sessions, but I'm also one of the organizers of the event. We have a great schedule planned and will be offering the Joomla Certification exam as well. I'll also be holding an exam review in the morning for anyone who is taking the exam.

The session I will be presenting:

For many Joomla! users there is a lot of confusion around menus. In this session, we will look at a simple quick menu add, then go back step by step taking a deeper look into the options and settings along the way, including covering menu item types and multiple menus. A deeper understanding of menus opens up a world of possibilities in Joomla!

Building with Fabrik Part 1 with Hugh Messenger
We’ll explore using Fabrik, a Joomla application builder extension. You’ll learn how to create custom tables directly from the Joomla interface. Add forms for data entry and enable granular access control on sections of data and functionality. Visualize data on maps, charts, and more. We’ll build a small application as part of the presentation and you’ll see how easy it can be.
